Believe it or not, there are actually quite a few reasons to play\u00a0Star Wars Battlefront 2<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in 2021. While the game’s\u00a0terrible launch will be forever tied to its reputation, DICE has put a ton of effort into the game over the years and it’s a very good\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0<\/em>multiplayer experience that’s absolutely worth playing right now.<\/p>\n

Naturally, the first thing anyone thinks of when\u00a0Star Wars Battlefront 2\u00a0<\/em>is mentioned is its disastrous launch. When the game released back in 2017, it was littered with microtransactions and leaned extremely hard into its loot box system. The game was rightfully eviscerated online and Electronic Arts’ response only added fueled to the fire. But in the years since, microtransactions have become non-existent and a significant amount of content has been added into the game.\u00a0Battlefront 2<\/em>\u00a0now sits<\/a> in a very strong position with a ton of great content and is much more in line with the expectations that the game initially failed to match.<\/p>\n

While the beginning of 2021 has been fairly quiet on the new game front, it’s a great time to jump into\u00a0Star Wars Battlefront 2<\/em>\u00a0for both new and returning players.\u00a0Following up the massive change in direction with Lucasfilm Games,\u00a0Star Wars Battlefront 2<\/em>\u00a0has seen a massive resurgence in popularity as it was given out for\u00a0free on the Epic Games Store<\/a>\u00a0over the last week. With an influx of new players, plenty of content, and fantastic mod support on PC, there are more than enough reasons to play the game right now. And for\u00a0Star Wars<\/em>\u00a0fans who are\u00a0interested in the canon story<\/a>, the game has a half-decent campaign that begins right at the end of the Battle of Endor and carries through to the Sequel Trilogy.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest things to keep in mind while playing\u00a0Star Wars Battlefront 2<\/em>\u00a0is that it’s not a competitive game. It’s not the most well-balanced game out there and the Heroes and Villains are designed to be a little on the overpowered side. Because the game features a massive power creep, new players\u00a0are able to easily catch up\u00a0by leveling the different characters and classes in the cooperative AI game modes while also taking advantage of the constant experience boosts that the game offers. Unfortunately,\u00a0Star Wars Battlefront 2<\/em>\u00a0has a notoriously toxic player base and the imbalanced gameplay fuels a poisonous in-game chat.\u00a0The secret to enjoying the game is to simply ignore the nonsense,\u00a0because\u00a0the game doesn’t have any sort of skill ranking system and is purely designed to be a\u00a0casual\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0<\/em>multiplayer experience<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It kind of snuck up on people, but\u00a0Star Wars Battlefront 2<\/em>\u00a0is a really good game now and is a ton of fun. With rumors of a\u00a0potential\u00a0Star Wars Battlefront 3<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in development at EA, it really is as good a time as any to jump into the game and have some fun with it.
